The Virginia Wine Expo began yesterday, February 26 and goes through Sunday, March 3. Sponsored by Publix, this is a nationally recognized event that happens right here in Richmond each year since 2007.
The recently remodeled, and absolutely gorgeous, Main Street Station in Shockoe Bottom is the location where you’ll find the Expo for 2019 spotlighting hundreds of Virginia wines and spirits, plus wines from International and National guest regions. This year will feature International Guest Region, Chile, and National Guest Region, Central Coast Santa Cruz Mountains and Southern California.
But wine isn’t all you have to look forward to when attending. Craft beers, whiskeys, artisan burgers and other delicious cuisine is also celebrated and showcased at the VWE, and for good reason. Richmond is known nationally as a fantastic craft beer and culinary destination. This is a great opportunity for local residents, as well as visitors from all over, to experience RVA’s extraordinary offerings.
There’s no other event like this anywhere else–where you can taste and buy hundreds of top-shelf wines and spirits and on top of that enjoy master-class seminars, wine pairing dinners, grand tastings, signature dinners, lunches, minglers, plus meet and talk with the owners and winemakers themselves. The Expo also offers amazing food and craft beverage events featuring artisan noodles and dumplings, global smoked cuisine, and native Virginia cuisine that showcases Richmond’s ethnic and culinary diversity. If you’ve been to this event before you know how spectacular it is, but this year will prove to be the best thus far.
Many of the events sell out quickly, so be sure to get your tickets now for your favorites. There are packages you can purchase depending on what you’re most interested in or you can buy tickets to separate events.
